Mga Karanasan ng Pakil

Marami sa mga kabataang taga-Pakil ang hindi nakakaalam ng mga istorya o kasaysayan ng Pakil noong mga 60's, 70's o 80's dahil hindi pa sila isinisilang noon. Ang Pakil ay isang simpleng bayan ngunit ito ay nasa lugar na malapit sa Maynila, sa Quezon kung saan narito ang Pacific Ocean at Laguna Bay na isang pinakamalaking lawa sa Pilipinas.

Noong matatapos na ang Martial Law, ang People's Center sa Plaza Adonay ay sinakop ng PC upang gawing kampo. Madalas naglalanding ang mga helikopter sa plaza sakay ang mga sundalo at matataas na opisyal ng gobyerno. Makikita minsan ang mga kriminal na nakatali ng lubid na dinadala sa kampo. Kung may mga kriminal katulad ng magnanakaw ng lanzones ito ay binabaril at idinidisplay ang bangkay sa harap ng munispyo kung saan tatakpan ng dyrayo.

Kung may nahuling magnanakaw ng manok ito ay dadalhin sa People's Center kung saan ito ay hinahampas ng ulo ng walis habang ang mga bata ay pwedeng manood. Minasan ipinagbawal ang mga paputok at maraming mga papautok na halos puno ang trak ang dinala sa kampo. Ibunuhos ang mga liquid na watusi sa daan upang hindi na ito magamit.

Mahigpit ang PC noon kaya naman halos nabawasan ang mga kriminal at mga away sa bayan ng Pakil, ngunit may mga natatakot na baka mapagkamalang kriminal at makatikim ng malupit na parusa bago pa ito mapatunayan.

Ang Pakil ay nakaranas din ng mga kahigpitan ng gobyerno at mga epekto ng pulitika sa bansa. Kaya't sa pagkatuto natin sa pagtaguyod ng bayang ito, masasabing sa ngayon, kahit hindi pa ito maunlad ay patuloy itong nagbabago.

The Visual Artists of Pakil, Laguna

Danilo Echavaria Dalena   (4 Jan 1942) made his mark in the early 1970s with his caustic political cartoons and illustrations for the  Free Press  and  Asia-Philippines Leader  as it raised the standards of editorial art in the country. He also did a series of highly realistic toilet and graffiti drawings in 1972. He has produced series of paintings depicting folk costums and lifestyles in the city. When he returned to his hometown in Pakil, Laguna he has found new artistic inspiration in folk costums and lifestyle depicting its festivities. In 1974 shortly alter the declaration of martial law caused the closing down of the Philippine Leader, Dalena found himself without work. He then began the Jai A/ai Series that portrayed not the game itself but the swirling mass of bettors who arrived hopeful but left as losers. Adonay, The Maestro from Pakil

The music of renowned 19th century Filipino composer Marcelo Adonay (1848-1928) will be brought to life by the Philippine Madrigal Singers led by Mark Carpio, with bass soloist, Greg de Leon, pianist Nita Abrogar-Quinto, violinist Chona Noble, the UP Cherubim and Seraphim, conducted by Elena R.
